Echo, a Junior Rancher’s Registered Highland Heifer

Echo is a red Highland heifer born July 16, 2024, at Highland Dale, our family Highland cattle farm in Missouri. She was the first calf born under the Highland Dale name, after we moved on from our earlier AAA Quality herd name. Today Echo belongs to WP, Ms. Em and Beauford’s grandson. He bought her from the farm with money he earned selling his own 3D prints and calendars.

How a young rancher bought his first Highland cow

WP named Echo when she was a calf. Then he set out to make her his. He designed and sold 3D prints and calendars and saved his earnings until he could buy her from the farm. Echo still lives at Highland Dale with her mother, Secret Agent Number Three, and the rest of the fold. WP keeps working the farm, caring for her, and paying for her hay, pasture and vet bills himself. It’s a real business: what he makes covers what she costs.
